Complacency in the Lives of the People
Nehemiah continued with the reform he started in the lives and ways of the people in Jerusalem. The time he was away in Babylon was a time of complacency in the people and maneuvering of the enemy. The Church needs to walk in the spirit constantly; listening and obeying the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Separate Yourself from Worldly Influences
I do believe we can get so complacent in our walk that we begin to not discern His voice anymore. I speak from experience on this. Eliashib represents us; our soul. He is a priest of the temple, but he is not the High Priest.
