W.A.R.: Wisdom and Revelation for the Battle Ahead
A 12-Week Devotional & Bible Study
W.A.R. is not just a devotional—it’s a call to arms for every believer. Now revised and expanded, each devotional includes a study guide designed to help you dig deeper and apply biblical truths to your daily walk.
WAR — Wisdom and Revelation: A Devotional for Spiritual Soldiers
W.A.R. is a weekly devotional and Bible study the Lord led me to write during a season of deep testing—a time when I had to learn to trust Him completely. It was in that valley that He began to pour out His Wisdom and Revelation. This time became the foundation of this devotional. Since then, I have updated the content and added a study guide at the end of each devotional entry to help you reflect, grow, and apply what you’ve learned.
The acronym W.A.R.—Wisdom and Revelation—is an inspiration from a message I once heard from Dutch Sheets at a conference in New York City. As I listened, the Holy Spirit reminded me of 2 Timothy 2:1-4: we are soldiers in the army of God. He chose us to endure hardship, and commands us not to entangle ourselves with the things of this world. Soldiers are made for war, and spiritual soldiers are made for WAR.
Spiritual Soldiers
This devotional is to prepare and empower you for that battle. As you dig into God’s Word each week, you will gain deeper insight into who you are, whose you are, and what you are here to do. With each devotional, you will be more equipped to stand strong, fight well, and advance the Kingdom of God.
Hebrews 4:12 tells us that God’s Word is living, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. That sword, powered by Wisdom and Revelation, is your primary weapon. According to Ephesians 6:17, it is the “sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” It’s all we need to tear down strongholds, cast out demons, and walk in the authority Jesus promised us.
Soldiers are made for war, and as followers of Christ, we’re no different. The more we pursue God’s wisdom and revelation, the more our enemy feels threatened. The more we discover who we are, whose we are, and why we’re here, the more we weaken the enemy’s grip and advance the Kingdom of God.
Whether you’re in a battle or preparing for one, this devotional will help you:
-
Discover your true identity and purpose in Christ
-
Learn to rely completely on God through His Word
-
Gain spiritual insight to overcome the enemy
-
Grow in confidence and courage as a Kingdom warrior
My prayer is that by the end of this devotional journey, you will have a clearer understanding of your identity in Christ. That you gain a greater confidence in your spiritual calling, and deeper intimacy with the One who called you. May you gain strength by His Wisdom, undergo transformation by His Revelation, and fully prepare for W.A.R.
