“The Healing is in the Living.”
I’m Brian L. Knack — author, survivor, truth-teller, and a man walking out redemption one step at a time. I’ve known what it’s like to be shattered by grief, gripped by addiction, and buried beneath the weight of broken identity. But I’ve also learned this: God is not afraid of our ashes. He builds beauty from them.
I wasn’t always this version of myself. I grew up on a farm in White Sulphur Springs, NY — hands in the dirt, eyes on the stars. I’ve always loved science fiction, archaeology, stories about lost worlds and deeper truths. But the greatest story I’ve ever encountered is the one the Father has been writing with my life.
In April 1994, I gave my life to Jesus Christ. That was my beginning — but not the end of the fire. I lost my wife in 2021, and with her, a piece of my heart. For a while, I nearly gave up. I broke, deeply. And yet, I found something in the breaking: a calling to help others find hope in their own ruins.
Today, I live what I write. I’m on a personal transformation journey — physically, spiritually, and emotionally. At 6’2″ and 560 lbs, I’m reclaiming my health with discipline, movement, fasting, and faith. My goal is to reach 250 lbs and one day drive off into the sunrise in a Celurian Blue Dodge Ram 2500. But more than that, I want to be a husband again. A man worthy of the love I once knew.

Where I Am Now
When I’m not writing or creating, you’ll find me outdoors — hunting, fishing, hiking, or making something in the kitchen. I believe great food and deep conversations can heal wounds you didn’t even know you had.
My books are an extension of my soul. Whether it’s the faith-based devotional God’s Broken Vessels: Agents of Restoration or the mythic techno-thriller series The Genesis Codex, everything I write carries the same message:
“You are not your trauma. You are not your addiction. You are not your confusion. You are My beloved.”
I’m here for the broken, the curious, the faithful, and the forgotten. The ones who have walked through fire and lived to tell about it. If that’s you, welcome home. The healing really is in the living.
